I first picked this product up while I was on the hunt for sulphate-free shower products as my limbs had all of a sudden become sensitive to supermarket body washes, scrubs and the like. I'm talking itchy to the point of me scratching my legs 'til they bleed type of reaction. Anyway, having used Lush products on and off over the years I thought it would be worth a look to see if they had anything gentle, but not as boring as the soap-free, scent-free, plain old packaged products from Priceline and supermarkets. (Not knocking these types of products, as there definitely is a place for them, however, I missed my yummy smelling shower gels)!
While perusing the shelves of my local Lush store, I was surprised to find that a number of the shower products on offer did in fact contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS). Feeling a bit put off, I had resigned myself to the fact that I would forever have to bathe with boring products. That is, until, I spotted Ro's Argan Body Conditioner alongside another new favourite of mine, Dreamwash.
Ro's Argan Body Conditioner is described as "a beautiful, rose jam scented body conditioner that’s full of the most emollient, moisturising ingredients possible to feed and nourish the skin."
What ingredients are these? Well, there's Cypress Oil, Capuacu Butter, Brazil Nut Oil, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter along with Almond Oil and of course, as the name suggests, Argan Oil. This delicious-smelling formula also contains soothing spring water and 20% glycerine, which helps to lock in moisture.
What I love about this product, apart from the lovely rose scent, is how convenient it is to use. I simply slather it all over my body after washing with Dreamwash or Turkish Delight Shower Smoothie (reviews to come). I then rinse off and pat myself dry and enjoy the luxurious, silky feeling while getting dressed. No time spent lotioning up after showering and no time waiting for the product to sink into the skin before putting clothes on. You are left feeling beautifully moisturised and relaxed. One of the reasons I hate applying lotion is how it can rub off on my clothes if I get dressed too quickly after application. This is not a problem when it comes to this product. LOVE IT!
The only downside for me is the price tag. A 225g tub will knock you back $32.50, which may seem fine to some, but for a gal who not so long ago was happy to pay less than $10 on supermarket washes, it's a little steep. Especially since I use quite a bit every time I shower. I have already gone through two tubs. The second was kindly included in a goodie bag at a recent Lush bloggers event which I finished up this week.
Despite the price, I will continue to repurchase this forever and ever! Unless Lush comes up with something similar smelling like caramel or vanilla, of course.
