2012 Oscars Red Carpet - Best of the Rest

There were so many amazing dresses at the 84th Annual Academy Awards, held in Los Angeles, California. I've already posted on some of my favourite looks of the night, but here are some honourable mentions.

Tina Fey looked fab in Carolina Herrera. The gown fits her body really well and I love the peplum!

Rooney Mara in Givenchy was a real treat. I was expecting something dark and edgy, but she went for white. It's a great contrast to her blunt black bangs and bold red lips.

Rooney is so striking!

Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen. I love this print on her, very unexpected! She paired the dress with Harry Winston jewels and looked amazing! This is one of my favourites of the night.

Best actress winner, Octavia Spencer looked sensational in a glittering Tadashi Shoji gown. I love how the dress fits her so perfectly, and how the design gives her more of a waist. Stunning.

Who do you think was best dressed at this year's Oscars?

2012 Oscars Red Carpet - Natalie Portman

Last year's best actress Oscar winner, Natalie Portman looked lovely on the red carpet at the 84th Annual Academy Awards on February 26 in Los Angeles, California.

Natalie wore a red Dior Haute Couture “Nuit de Feu” dress from 1954.

Natalie was accompanied by her partner, Benjamin Millepied.
Although I find polka dots tend to dress down a look, in this case, they are something special. The gown has been tailored to fit her body perfectly and the Harry Winston jewels perfectly complement the look. I also love the black Charlotte Olympia clutch.

Natalie wore Dior makeup to create her old-hollywood glamour look.

2012 Oscars Red Carpet - Penelope Cruz

Even though Penelope Cruz wasn't up for any awards, she went all out with her glamorous red carpet look at the 84th Annual Academy Awards today in Los Angeles, California.

Cruz looked simply beautiful in a periwinkle Giorgio Armani gown and Chopard jewels.

Penelope's 50s style hair is gorgeous, and perfectly complements the dress. She is clearly going for a princess look here and she has achieved it!

Penelope shone in glittering Chopard jewels

The dress looks just as beautiful from behind!
A modern-day princess!
I absolutely love this look on Penelope, the style really suits her and this dress fits her impeccably.

2012 Oscars Red Carpet - Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie

Hollywood royalty, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie arrived together for the 84th Annual Academy Awards on February 26 in Los Angeles, California.

The genetically blessed lovers looked amazing in black as they walked the red carpet and posed for photographers.

Angelina wore a sexy Atelier Versace gown with thigh high split and accessorised with Salvatore Ferragamo peep-toe pumps and a Jaime Mascaro clutch.

Brad looked suave in a slick Tom Ford suit.

I love how happy Angelina looks! She's obviously excited for best actor nominee Brad!

These two always look amazing together. I'm not surprised Angelina chose black, but I'm happy she went with this edgy number. Brad always looks great, but I'm glad his hair isn't any longer than this. When his hair gets too long it just looks shaggy and ages him.

Jolie's hair and makeup was spot-on. Sultry eyes and lips combined with sexy tousled locks ensured the dress wasn't outdone. I also love that you can see a hint of her Neil Lane earrings peeking out through her hair.

What are your thoughts on Hollywood's hottest couple?

2012 Oscars Red Carpet - Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams, best actress nominee for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, looked lovely in coral Louis Vuitton at the 2012 Oscars.

Michelle looked beautiful with her signature blonde pixie cut and simple, pretty makeup.

Williams accessorised with a Bottega Veneta clutch and Forevermark and Fred Leighton jewels.

I love Michelle's Oscars look, I'm so glad she went for such a bright colour. What do you think?

2012 Oscars Red Carpet - Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth Paltrow looked stunning in white Tom Ford at the 84th Academy Awards in Los Angeles, California.

Gwyn paired her dress with Annu Hu jewellery and Jimmy Choo heels. Paltrow kept her hair and makeup fairly simple, but beautiful

I love that Gwyneth took a risk and wore the dress-cape combo. She looks fabulous!

Are you a fan of Gwyneth's red carpet look?

2012 Oscars Red Carpet - Emma Stone

One of my favourite young actresses, Emma Stone, channeled Nicole Kidman's 2007 Oscars look in red Giambattista Valli at the 84th Academy Awards.

Emma pulled her hair back to show off her Louis Vuitton jewels and giant red bow. Stone carried a Louis Vuitton clutch and wore Brian Atwood heels.

I'm a little undecided about Emma's makeup. While she looks beautiful, I think it's a bit safe. She went very soft on both the eyes and the lips, which runs the risk of making her appear a little washed out.

What do you think of Emma's red carpet look?

2012 Oscars Red Carpet - Viola Davis

Best Actress nominee Viola Davis wowed in bright green on the red carpet at the 84th Academy Awards in Los Angeles,California.

Davis made the bold choice of going au naturale with her hair, and I think she looks amazing! Viola's Vera Wang gown fits her like a glove and her skin is just glowing.

Viola accessorised with a Judith Leiber clutch, Jimmy Choo shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

What do you think of Viola's Oscars look?

2012 Oscars Red Carpet - Milla Jovovich

Milla Jovovich walked the red carpet at the 84th Academy Awards in Los Angeles California on Sunday February 26.

Milla wore a stunning Elie Saab gown, Jacob & Co jewellery and an Edie Parker clutch and completed the look with a gorgeous matte red lip.

I think Milla looks absolutely amazing, I cannot fault this look. What do you think of Milla's Oscar style?

Review: Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Range

Last year I given the opportunity to trial the Moroccan Argan Oil range from Organix and finally, here is my review.

First up is the Renewing Shampoo and Conditioner. My first impressions were that I liked the look of the packaging, (I'm a sucker for packaging, so this always has a place in my product reviews) and that the products were a good size for the shower. I much prefer pump bottles though, as I tend to be quite clumsy and constantly dropping things in the shower. Once opened, an amazing scent wafts through the air which makes me want to use the products straight away.
The shampoo is great. I always shampoo twice with shampoos when I feel like I need a really good clean. The first wash gets rid of surface grime and product build-up and the second wash provides a thorough clean. I loved how this shampoo lathered up on the second wash and I felt it gave my hair a great clean feeling, but not stripped.

The conditioner was nice but I did not find it gave my hair the moisture it needed, which I why every time I used these products since, I've either skipped the conditioner completely and gone straight to the Intense Moisturising Treatment, or if I had more time, I conditioned first, then went on to the next step.
385ml RRP $19.99
The Intense Moisturising Treatment was fantastic for my colour-treated (I go much lighter than my natural dirty blonde shade), fine dry hair. It provided much needed moisture and noticably reduced frizziness. I like to leave this treatment on for a good 3-5 minutes to really let it soak in. I hate that this product is in a tub, which most hair treatments seem to be, because I always manage to get water in the tub or spill some when I'm in the shower. I understand though that it might be harder to put a thicker product such as this through a pump bottle.
237ml RRP $19.99
The Penetrating Oil was lovely. Not too heavy, and only a tiny bit was needed on the mid-lengths to ends of my hair to give a smoothing effect and reduce frizz. The product is a small squeeze bottle, which means sometimes I tend to get too much product at once and end up wiping some off my hand with a towel or tissue.
Overall, I'm quite impressed with this range of products. They all work very well together and dramatically improve the condition of my tresses. If I were to skip any of the products though, it would be the conditioner, as it doesn't do enough on its own to achieve the results I want. The other three products are winners!
The Organix range is available from Coles, Chemist Warehouse, My Chemist and selected pharmacies and supermarkets.
