Over the weekend I finally got the chance to have a play with the latest addition to the OPI Shatter family, Gold Shatter.
I've been a fan of shatter polishes since they were first released, but I have long been hanging out for a gold version. I was thrilled when the lovely people at OPI sent me a bottle to try out for myself!
I decided to pair it with another OPI shade, Miami Beet.

I love the contrast of the metallic gold over the creamy beetroot colour, it's gorgeous! Unfortunately neither my camera nor my photographic skills managed to capture the awesome-ness of this look.
As usual, I added a glossy top coat as I find my nails look better glossy, but in this case especially, the gold became A LOT more vibrant once the top coat was applied. Without the top coat, the shatter effect is still visible, but the colour is slightly muted and dulled down a bit.
What do you think of the latest shatter shade? Personally I love it, but I know a lot of you aren't fans of shatter polish, which is totally fine of course, each to their own!
I think I'll be trying Gold Shatter next over a bright orange base, it will be perfect for hot summer days!
OPI Gold Shatter is available now in Australia in David Jones, selected beauty salons and spas.

Niki, I have been dying to get my hands on this one for ages! I love it! xx
ReplyDeleteI'd be way more inclined to get a gold shatter over a black or a white one - it looks more gold-leaf and less... is-your-nail-polish-chipping ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the gold shatter and also bought a bottle. Did you apply a thick coat of the shatter? Mine didn't crack so well and I'm wondering if that's the reason why...
