Taylor Lautner talks about going shirtless in Eclipse, the Kanye/Taylor MTV fiasco, and his home life in the July 2010 issue of GQ Magazine, which hits stands June 22.
The 18 year old Twilight hottie says he was on stage for the moment Kanye West took over Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Awards.
“I was standing behind her as it was happening, and 100 percent I was sure it was staged! I thought, ‘This was something that they rehearsed.’ I was enjoying the show! But then Taylor turned around and I saw her face.”
He also discussed his movie Valentine's Day, and how he was supposed to be shirtless like he appears in Eclipse.
“Originally I was supposed to take off my shirt. The script said we were walking into school and Willy takes off his shirt. I said, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa. Time out. He’s gonna take off his shirt in the middle of school? No, no, no. The reason I took off my shirt for New Moon is because it’s written in the book that way. And there’s reasons behind it.”
Taylor still reacts to Hollywood like a newbie, despite acting since his early teens. Speaking of presenting at this year's Oscars with his Twilight co-star Kristin Stewart, Lautner said "I would have passed out if she wasn't there! You're looking down and you're talking to George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio—and they're listening to you!"
Down to earth Lautner is sure to keep getting bigger and better if his latest projects are anything to go by. He has signed on to several new films including Stretch Armstrong and Abduction, both of which are sure to make even more famous.
Despite his uber-celebrity status, Taylor says his home life is much the same.
“The thing I love is that my home life hasn’t changed. I still help out with the garbage. I still help out with the lawn.”
It is clear that Lautner is a kid with a good head on his shoulders in the midst of Twilight craziness, and this is one of the reasons so many people love him!
